Welcome to Apprendre Avec Mai. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website https://apprendreavecmai.com (“Website”) and any tutoring services, materials, or communication offered by Mai-Tram Descamps Nguyen (“we,” “our,” or “us”).
By accessing or using the Website or engaging in any services we offer, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website or our services.
1. Services Provided
Apprendre Avec Mai offers private and small-group French language tutoring services for children, teens, and adults. Classes may be held in person (San Jose, CA area) or online via Zoom or other video conferencing platforms.
We also offer DELF exam preparation (A1–B2 levels), French as a Second Language (FSL) instruction, and custom language learning plans.
2. Class Booking and Payment
All sessions must be scheduled in advance.
Payment is due prior to the start of the first class or in accordance with the selected tutoring package.
We accept payments via Zelle, Venmo, or PayPal.
Rates are communicated upon inquiry and confirmed in writing before services begin.
Class packages are non-refundable but may be rescheduled with sufficient notice (see Cancellation Policy below).
3. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged.
If you cancel a session with less than 24 hours’ notice or miss the session without notice, you will be charged in full.
Rescheduling is allowed if requested at least 24 hours in advance and subject to availability.
In case of emergencies or illness, we may waive the cancellation fee at our discretion.
4. Refund Policy
Payments for individual sessions are non-refundable once the session has been delivered.
Unused sessions in prepaid packages may be refunded upon written request within 14 days of purchase, minus a $25 administrative fee.
No refunds will be provided for missed sessions unless due to an error on our part.
5. Code of Conduct
Students are expected to be respectful, punctual, and prepared for each session.
Inappropriate behavior or language will not be tolerated and may result in termination of services without a refund.
We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue services if a student’s conduct disrupts the learning environment.
6. Intellectual Property
All learning materials provided during sessions, including worksheets, presentations, and lesson plans, are the intellectual property of Apprendre Avec Mai unless otherwise stated. These materials are for personal use only and may not be reproduced, distributed, or sold without written permission.
7. Privacy and Data Protection
We respect your privacy. Any personal information shared with us for booking or communication purposes will be kept strictly confidential and will never be sold or shared with third parties.
We use basic website analytics to understand user engagement but do not collect personally identifiable information unless voluntarily submitted by you.
8. Website Use
By accessing https://apprendreavecmai.com, you agree not to misuse the site, attempt unauthorized access, or interfere with its functionality. All content on this site is protected by copyright and may not be copied or reused without permission.
9. Limitation of Liability
We strive to provide high-quality instruction, but we do not guarantee specific results. By using our services, you acknowledge that language learning varies by individual and depends on effort, consistency, and external factors.
We are not liable for any direct, indirect, or incidental damages arising from the use of our services or this Website.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Santa Clara County, California.
